Movistar Plus format description for VOD service

Movistar Plus VOD service requires different encoding profiles depending on the quality of the source material.


  • When source material is HD (High Definition), the video file must be generated according to the HIGH PROFILE specs described in this document. 

  • When source material is SD (Standard Definition), the video file must be generated according to the STANDARD PROFILE specs described in this document. 

  • Some contents are available on UHD (UHD PROFILE specifications). 

HIGH PROFILE Specifications

Subtitles

In case content is subtitled, subtitling data are required as a separated file. Each video file must be accompanied by its corresponding subtitles files, one different file for each subtitling language is needed. 

Subtitling file technical specifications

STL format file

The following rule will be used to name the file:
           File name_Language. STL
Where: 
            File name: Same name as video file 
            Language: Three characters code to specify the subtitling language: TXT (Spanish); SID (Original language); SRD (Hard hearing); CAT (Catalan); EUS (Euskera) 

Others

All content must have the age rating that is reported in the metadata XML burned into the video.

The name of the file must be as short as possible and must be identified in the XML file.
